Happy New Year friends! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are starting to get back into the swing of things. We’ve had a hectic but fun couple of weeks with family and friends and we are ready to get back into our routine. I just love the motivation that the New Year brings and again this year, I’m trying to set attainable goals and resolutions to keep throughout 2015.
I really want to focus more on this lovely piece of internet space I have here. I love all of you and am flabbergasted daily at how many people are following and reading. When I started my blog, my primary goal was to keep track of the recipes I tried, share them with friends and to branch out and try new things. I know I don’t have a crazy following but 1738 is way more than I ever imagined. For Christmas, Joel surprised me with my own domain so my site is now megseverydayindulgence.com (rather than .wordpress.com). Isn’t that an awesome gift? Any recipes that you may have bookmarked or pinned will redirect so no worries there. But back to the resolutions. I have kind of put blogging on the back burner recently and I have missed it so my goal this year is to blog more consistently and to start a new little series on Fridays called Photo Friday. I will share a photo (or a few) from the past week. Sometimes it will be food related and I’m sure a lot of the time it will involve one of my babies. Hopefully this is something you will enjoy. I want to work on my photo editing skills too this year so it’s a dual purpose solution! Also, I just created a Twitter account so be sure to check it out and follow me @megseveryday.
I, of course, want to continue eating healthy and exercising. I did really great with this resolution last year until Thanksgiving hit….dang holidays. So, my goal this year is to eat mostly clean (80/20) and exercise 4 times/week. I was working out 3 days a week so this seems attainable to me.
My last resolution is to let the little things go and relax. Those that know me well know I’m a
little lot uptight and I just want to work on chilling out a bit. I don’t want to worry about my house being perfect when people are coming over. They know I have a 4 and 1 year old. I’m sure they won’t be too shocked or offended if there are some toys laying around and every speck of dust isn’t carefully removed from every surface. Close your eyes, put on your zen music and repeat after me “let it go.” And now I have freaking “Let It Go” stuck in my head and I bet you do too. You’re welcome.
For the first installment of Photo Friday I’m sharing a photo from Christmas Eve of my littlest loves. These two crazies are my everything.
What are your resolutions this year? How do you keep yourself accountable to the goals you set?
