Joel and I went to Salt Lake City for a little getaway last weekend and we had a blast. We managed to pack in as much as we could because that’s how we roll on vacation (especially when it’s a place neither of us have visited).
We checked out downtown Salt Lake City first and the Mormon Temple. It was an amazing building with so much interesting history. It took 40 years to build (1853-1893) due to transportation issues and expectations.
Views of the city from Ensign Peak.
We hiked the Donut Falls trail which was amazingly beautiful.
We had to climb this waterfall to get to Donut Falls.
Look at me, breaking the rules. It took everything in my type-A, first born personality to ignore the sign.
But it was totally worth it.
We also checked out the Salt Lake City Olympics Sports Park where ski and bobsled events were held. There was a ski museum that had a lot of information on the games and the history of Salt Lake City.
Before heading out of town, we had to visit the Great Salt Lake.
