We’ve been crazy busy this past week with even more to come this weekend. The weather is finally warm enough to wear shorts and play outside but we had a health alert due to fires throughout the state and crazy winds so we were advised to stay indoors. Womp womp. They even had indoor recess at school. What’s up Nebraska?
Saturday started with Noah’s school carnival then right after we headed to his first week of flag football which he totally loved. I wasn’t sold on him trying it since I don’t want him to play when he’s older but it’s just a 4 week clinic where they learn the basic skills and rules of football so we signed him up. Let’s just hope he doesn’t love it too much so I don’t have to crush some dreams. There were 4 different station and he enjoyed the one where he got to run with the ball to make a touchdown and pull people’s flags. I loved watching the defensive station because they had us cracking up. Watching 5 and 6 year olds do these drills is hilarious. They didn’t quite get all the directions that their arms should pump not stay on their legs like the starting point.
He also had his first session of his golf clinic this week. Noah has enjoyed golf since he was itty bitty and even got his own set of golf clubs when he was two. Joel takes him to the driving range regularly during the spring and summer to hit buckets of balls so we knew he would enjoy it. He liked chipping best since he got to mess up the grass. Typical 5 year old.
It was nice out Sunday so we went out to a nearby lake to try out the giant Frisbee he won in the raffle at his carnival. That thing is fun and kept us entertained for quite awhile. The bathtub was covered in sand that night.
Daddy and his loves.
I love this sweet, ornery girl.
Next week Joel and I head to Vegas for his annual work conference. I’m counting down the hours. I mean, I love my kids but I’m ready for a little getaway. We’ve been the past few years but I’m always looking for food suggestions! Oh and I’m trying Rent the Runway for the first time too. Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see all the shenanigans.
