I’m in Vegas right now trying to sleep in, drinking so much Starbucks and eating too much. Those are always my goals when we come to Vegas. I always plan to relax but I don’t do so well in that department. This is our 4th year going to Vegas for Joel’s work retreat and I always say I’m going to just relax and lay by the pool one day and I never last more than an hour. I like to keep busy, there are things I could be missing while I’m just lounging around. Last year when we said we would just hang out, this happened. Maybe I’ll succeed at relaxing this year….
I’m heading to brunch today with all the ladies that are here with their husbands/boyfriends. I’m super pumped to try this place that I saw so many bloggers post about on Instagram. We’ll see if it lives up to the hype!
Besides having a little break from the kids, the food is what I look forward to most when we visit Vegas. I do a lot of research like any other millennial. But, I just realized I’ve never done a food post from our trips, #foodbloggerfail. I’ll try to get on that this year. I didn’t bring my DSLR so iPhone photos will have to do. After 4 years, we have quite a list of must eat restaurants. The brunch at Paris Hotel is always a requirement when we visit so we’ll be do that tomorrow morning for sure. And Holstein’s for burgers and boozy shakes is always a must.
I walked to Fashion Show yesterday because an Elsa present was requested by Hannah and I knew the Disney Store was there. Then I accidentally wandered into Lush and this happened. They may own me now, it feels so magical on my chronically dry skin. And the kids are going to flip over the rainbow molding soap.
I was also dragged into Sur La Table…not sure how that happened. I seriously spent about 45 minutes in there.
I also noticed there was a Carlo’s Bakery on the way back in the Venitian so I accidently wandered in there too. Then I ate the cream puff right before lunch. On vacation you totally eat dessert first. I blame skipping breakfast (we all know that’s code for I have no self-control).
I walked 5 miles before lunch so after stuffing my face with the lovely ladies we decided we deserved to relax by the pool. With drinks of course. Because day drinking also happens when you are on vacation.
Tonight we’ll all be attending a big party the company puts on every year. They are renting out a club at the top of the Palms where we’ll drink too much and dance all night. I don’t drink often so I let loose a little when we’re in Vegas. I’m trying out Rent the Runway this year and got an obnoxiously sequined dress. See.
I was super anxious about it fitting but luckily, they let you choose two sizes so I’m good. Now to decide if I want to be able to breathe or not. Oh, and thank you God for the invention of Spanx.
Hope your weekend is as sparkly as my dress!
