I haven’t done a Photo Friday post in awhile. It’s not that we haven’t been busy but I just have been failing hard at grabbing my camera. That being said, all of these photos are courtesy of my iPhone.
Noah went on vacation with Joel’s parents and his cousins last week to the north shore of Minnesota. It was his first trip without me so I was anxious about the whole thing but he had a great time. Joel and I have visited the area twice with his parents (once when Noah was a baby) since we used to live relatively close so it was neat to hear about the things he loved and know exactly what he was talking about and be able to picture him there. While he was gone I put on my adult hat and cleaned, organized and goodwill-ed the toy room. I wish I had taken some before photos because it was a total pit. I also cleared out all the clothes the kids have outgrown and organized them in bins. It had almost a year since I tackled that project and my kids grow like weeds so that was quite a project as well.
I’ve been trying to read The Gifts of Imperfection for the last couple weeks and I just can’t get into it. I don’t know what it is but it’s just not speaking to me on the level I hoped it would. Everyone that I know that reads Brene Brown’s stuff loves her so I think I’m going to switch to the crowd favorite Daring Greatly. My in-laws raved about this book and thought I would really enjoy it so they lent me their copy so it’s definitely next on the list. What have you guys been reading lately? I’ve added several books to my list thanks to my friend Molly and her last few book reviews.
When your kids love cherries but are spoiled and don’t like to eat around the pit…
We smoked some chicken wings last weekend and they were so good. They probably could have used an hour or so less time in the smoker but we were putting together the kids new playset and forgot about them.
Oh, and I started taking screen printing classes! I have my last class in a couple weeks then I’ll officially be certified and I can use the facility to make my own shirts and art! Maybe I’m way too excited about this but it’s something I always wanted to try and it’s really fun to create my own designs. The first class, we had a few options to choose from and for the second class we brought our own designs. The last class we complete the process on our own from start to finish. I’ve got about 20 design ideas in my head. I love a funny graphic tee.
That’s all I’ve got for you today my friends. Hoping to hit the farmer’s market this weekend with a friend. I’m ashamed to admit I haven’t made it there yet this summer. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
