Today’s Photo Friday is all about all the things I’m excited about right now. Fall shows are coming back, apple picking (#basic), a blogger cookbook I totally adore and some other fun things from the week.
So maybe I’m the last one to figure this out but the focus playlists on Spotify are totally blowing my mind and changing my writing game. I didn’t know about them until a few weeks ago when I was complaining to Joel about the loud obnoxious over sharers at Starbucks. I can’t focus with too much noise going on so the typical music I listen to on the radio is out when I’m working on the blog but I still need something to tune out chatter when I’m not working at home. He was all like, you don’t know about the focus playlists? Nope I don’t but now I do, thank you very much. And if you guys live under a rock like I do apparently now you do too. Go now friends and focus, well when you’re done reading this.
Fall shows are coming back next week and I can barely stand it! Am I the only one who didn’t realize Scandal wasn’t coming back until mid-season. I’m keeping it together but barely. What shows are you looking forward to the most?
This weekend is one of my favorites of the whole year, the Apple Jack Festival. We pick apples, drink cider, watch how cider is made and browse the craft fair. The weather is always nice and it’s just so fun to be outside all day with my favorite people bringing in fall. Then all the things we can do with the apples when we get home!! I have big plans.
Speaking of fall, this PSL candle is everything. Well, the whole fall collection is incredible so it was hard to choose. They are locally made and hand poured in small batches. And they smell so good you kind of want to eat them.
We are a couple weeks out from our Colorado trip and I couldn’t be more excited. We bought our tickets for the Pike’s Peak Cog Railway so we’re set to do that along with Garden of the Gods and Seven Falls. Anything else we have to do? Maybe something off the beaten trail? And I also need doughnut recs. That is a vacation requirement.
I’ve been working on this quilt all year to gift to my parents for their 35th anniversary. I gave it to them last week so I can finally share pictures. They seemed to really love it and I have to say it’s my favorite one yet.
I have a new favorite cookbook and it’s from food blogger Chungah of Damn Delicious. I’ve always loved her blog and any recipe of hers that I make is always a huge hit. I was super excited when it was announced and preordered it. I read it from cover to cover day one and as you can see, there are a lot of recipes I want to try.
I did a trial run of Hannah’s birthday cake and it involved homemade marshmallow fondant and layers. It turned out about how I expected. Not terrible but definitely not like the picture. If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw it on my Insta Story or whatever it’s called. It tasted delicious, she loved the way it looked and I picked up some more items to make it even more mermaid-y (did someone say pearl dust and sugar pearls?). I’m calling it good.
That’s all I’ve got today. I hope your weekend is full of all things fall.
