Photo Friday {11.11.16}

Photo Friday is featuring what I’ve been reading lately, weekend shenanigans, my new favorite accessory and more. It’s been a crazy, stressful week so let’s all love each other and try to stay positive this Friday morning.

It’s been a loooong, stressful week my friends and I’m glad it’s over. The election, some weird sickness stuff with Hannah (resulting in very little sleep), family pictures and Cub Scouts has been just about enough to put me over the edge. I’m over it and ready for the weekend. But I don’t want to dwell on the negative so let’s talk about the good stuff going on in our lives recently. What have you been up to?

I’ve been on a big reading kick most of the year but with a busy October I definitely trailed off and didn’t pick up a single book, although I did listen to this. I was on the waiting list at the library for The Couple Next Door and last week it was my turn and I managed to read it in a matter of days thus renewing my need to devour all the books. It kept me intrigued the whole way through and I was dying to find out how it ended. I just picked up The Two-Family House last night so I’ll report back on that one soon.

The kids had a great time in the Veteran’s Day parade last weekend. Hannah thought it should be a “one for you, one for me” kind of situation with the candy throwing. Noah rocked the whole thing, throwing candy, smiling and waving like a little professional. He can’t wait for next year. Thank you today and every day to all those who have served. Your incredible service and sacrifice is appreciated always.

I don’t know how or why it took me so long but I bought a blanket scarf over the weekend and holy warm and cozy batman. I wore it for our family pictures Tuesday afternoon and it was the perfect punch of color and pattern and it kept me warm through the session. I’m officially obsessed and will be requiring several more to match all the sweaters. And you can check out a sneak peek of our pictures here.

Stay tuned next week for a fun, deliciously simple twist on a classic Thanksgiving dessert. My little helper here gives her approval and endorsement.
