I’m teaming up again with one of my favorite companies, Rhodes Bake-n-Serv, to bring you these delicious and simple Cheesy Pulled Pork Sliders. There’s tender pulled pork, sweet barbecue sauce, rich cheese sauce and the most delicious, fluffy rolls.

I’ve sung Rhodes praises before and I will continue to because they truly are my favorite store-bought bread product. I love all the fun, creative recipes you can make with their thawed bread dough and rolls. And the Warm-N-Serv options truly taste homemade and make life so much easier.

A Handful of Ingredients

You only need a handful of ingredients to make these pulled pork sliders. First up, a pork butt or shoulder. This cut will result in the juiciest, most tender pulled pork. It’s really the only way to go.

You’ll also need a bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce to toss with the pulled pork once it’s cooked.

The cheese sauce starts with a basic roux of butter and flour. Once that cooks, milk, shredded cheddar cheese, salt and pepper are all you need.

Then to pull it all together and turn them into sliders, grab a bag of Rhodes Warm-N-Serv rolls. I love that these rolls taste homemade but all I have to do is throw them in the oven. They come out slightly crunchy on the outside and soft and pillowy inside. You don’t even have to thaw them. Literally from freezer to oven to table in 12 minutes.

Not counting the seasonings, that’s only 8 ingredients needed. That’s my kind of recipe.

Minimum Effort, Maximum Results

Not only are the ingredients super simple and easy to find but the process of making these Cheesy Pulled Pork Sliders is pretty darn easy too.

The pork is seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper then cooked in the slow cooker for 4 hours on high. At this point the pork is cooked. Shred it in the slow cooker and leave all those delicious juices in there. Stir in your favorite barbecue sauce and cook another hour. It’ll turn into pure magic.

During the last 15 minutes of slow cooking, throw the rolls in the oven and whip up the super simple cheese sauce. You can even warm up the rolls in the microwave if you are running short on time. Literally fresh rolls in seconds. Winning.

Perfect for All the Occasions

My favorite reason to make these is a football party. Gather your friends and family and serve a big pile of these sliders with a heaping helping of deviled egg macaroni salad and grilled corn

They would also be great for game night noshing or to take to a potluck. Just keep the cheese sauce on warm in a slow cooker before serving.

Ingredients
  • 2.5-3 lbs. boneless pork butt
  • 2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 18 oz. bottle BBQ sauce
  • 12 Rhodes Warm-N-Serv Rolls
For the Cheese Sauce:
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
Instructions
  1. Place the pork in your slow cooker. Sprinkle evenly with 2 teaspoons kosher salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Add water to the bottom of the slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours.

  2. Shred the pork and stir in the barbecue sauce leaving the liquid from the pork in the slow cooker. Cook another hour on high.

  3. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Bake the rolls for 11 to 13 minutes.

  4. While the rolls are baking make the cheese sauce. Heat a saucepan over medium heat. Melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Whisk in the milk in two increments, letting it thicken between additions. Once the sauce has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon turn off the heat. Whisk in the shredded cheese until smooth.

  5. To assemble: slice rolls in half. Pile with a hearty portion of pulled pork. Spoon on desired amount of cheese. Top with top half of roll and enjoy. Serve with more cheese sauce on the side for dipping if desire.
