You'll be the hit of the 4th of July party when you show up with this Red White and Blue Dessert Board. Super simple to make with store-bought ingredients, some time and all your creative juices.

Ingredients

  • Red candy melts
  • Royal blue candy melts
  • Festive sprinkles
  • 1/2 bag pretzel rods
  • 1/3 package double stuffed oreos
  • 1/3 package vanilla wafer cookies
  • 10-12 rice krispy squares
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Cherries

Instructions

  • Line three large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Open the pretzels, oreos, wafer cookies and unwrap rice krispies.
  • Pour half the bag of red candy melts into a tall, microwave safe drinking glass. Melt in 30 second increments until just melted. Dip 6 to 8 pretzels halfway and scrape the bottom layer off as you pull it out of the glass. Place the side you scraped on the parchment paper and sprinkle with sprinkles or allow to dry to drizzle with the contrasting color later. 
  • Pour remaining melted candy melts into a small bowl and dip oreos and vanilla wafer cookies halfway, setting on the parchment when you're done. Decorate them with sprinkles or again, let them dry for drizzling later.
  • Repeat the process with half the blue candy melts.
  • Melt the remaining red candy melts. Once the candy is melted, pour into a ziplock bag and snip a small bit of one of the corners. Lay out oreos, vanilla wafer cookies and rice krispies and drizzle them to your hearts desire. Drizzle the desire pretzel rods.
  • Repeat the process with the blue candy melts. Decorate as desired.
  • Allow everything to harden. Gather your platter/board and bowls.
  • Fill a small bowl with blueberries and place in desired location on board. Arrange the dipped treats around the board. Fill in empy spots with strawberries and cherries.
