Shark week continues and can you tell I love the gore of it all? First cupcakes oozing with strawberry filling and now these Blood in the Water drinks (also known as lava flows but I like my name better).
When I was planning this week, I didn’t take into account that two of the three treats involved strawberries, oops. You could replace them with raspberries if you so choose. I love strawberries so I was happy just the way they were.
When I took a sip of this, I felt like I was on the beach with my toes in the sand. The strawberries, pineapple and coconut combine to a sweet, tropical sipper that is perfect during the hot weather and shark week. Joel mixed in a little rum and enjoyed it even more!

Serves 4
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups strawberries
- 1/2 cup water
- 12 oz. pineapple juice
- 12 oz. cream of coconut (such as Coco Lopez)
- 1/4 cup half and half
- 3-4 cups ice
Instructions
- Puree strawberries and water in a blender until a thick, syrupy like consistency occurs. Pour evenly between 4 glasses.
- Rinse blender then add in pineapple juice, cream of coconut, half and half and ice (start with 3 cups of ice and add more if you want a thicker consistency).
- Pour pineapple coconut mixture on top of the strawberry and enjoy. I like mine best when it is swirled and somewhat mixed together.
