I have another fun and EASY appetizer for you today, Air Fryer Pigs in a Blanket. I promise they will be a hit no matter what your age. Who doesn’t love a little hot dog surrounded by bread?

The dough gets perfectly crisp on the outside while staying light and fluffy inside. The smokies are juicy and perfectly hot throughout.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Pigs in a Blanket

You only need two ingredients for this recipe:

  • Little smokies: A small pack will be enough. You can use the regular or the cheese variety.
  • Crescent roll dough: You’ll want to grab a tube from the refrigerated section. It will be pressed together so if you can find the sheet of dough (rather than the perforated rolls) that would be even easier for you. My stores no longer carry it.

Assemble the Pigs in a Blanket

Lay out your crescent dough on a large cutting board. Don’t separate the rolls. Instead, press them together at the cuts so that you have a large sheet of dough.

Configure the dough so that it’s landscape and slice it in half. Then slice each half in half again. Continue this until you have 16 strips of dough. Turn and cut in half lengthwise so you now have 32 strips.

Wrap each little smokie with a strip of crescent dough. Place in the basket of your air fryer in a single layer. You’ll need to cook them in batches.

Optional Additions

Want to give these little bites a little more pizzazz? I have a few ideas for you.

You could use the cheese filled little smokies. Or add a little shredded cheese as you wrap up the smokies in the dough.

I also love sprinkling little smokies with everything bagel seasoning before cooking.

Great for Appetizers or a Meal

I love how quick and easy these are to put together and cook. They only take about 20 minutes from start to finish.

These are a great option as an appetizer or to bring to a potluck. But they also make an easy lunch or dinner option.
