Are you guys crafters? Handmade makers? I love a good homemade craft and I love this one even more since it combines some of my favorite things, food and crafting. Plus, it will make you look all clear and glowy and I’m not mad about that.
This DIY Coffee Scrub exfoliates and moisturizes at the same time. Obviously the coarseness of the coffee helps slough off any dry skin. There is also some brown sugar in the mix to enhance the exfoliation game. Olive oil and vitamin E oil combine to make your skin crazy soft.
You can use it on your face, body and even your scalp. Guys, I have crazy dry skin and it has made a huge difference. It smooths out rough patches, clears pores and also decreases the appearance of cellulite. What more could you ask for in a beauty product, right?
I also added a few drops of essential oil to enhance the scent and benefits of the scrub. I went with peppermint essential oil this time around to make it extra festive but you can use any essential oil that you love to scent and infuse the scrub. I’ve used orange in the past which helps boost your mood and get you going making it a great option for your morning routine. And lavender is a great nighttime option to help you relax and get to sleep easier.
If you don’t have any essential oils or they aren’t your thing, just leave them out. It will smell like straight coffee which isn’t a bad thing either.
It literally takes a few minutes to mix up using pantry staples so it makes a pretty thrifty gift option as well if you have a small budget. I don’t know about you but I think handmade gifts are always special since you know that person had to take time out of their busy schedules to make something for you and it usually is personalized toward something they know you love. The thought and extra effort is always a big deal to me.
This “recipe” makes a little more than a pint-sized mason jar so keep that in mind if you’re making gifts for several people. I think these little mason jars are adorable for gifting with these cute chalkboard labels to stick on them and let people know what they are receiving.
Whether you’re getting together with friends for a craft night or making homemade gifts for the holidays, this DIY Coffee Scrub will surely be a hit.
