Creamy Lemonade Bomb Pops

Vanilla frozen yogurt, tart lemonade and fruit combine to make these super fun and festive Creamy Lemonade Bomb Pops. Enjoy one or three while watching your favorite fireworks display this year.

If you’ve been around for some time you know that the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I absolutely adore fireworks and all the delicious, classic American food that comes along with the holiday. I love the time spent with a huge group of family and friends. I love the fruit pizza and patriotic desserts.

Who Doesn’t Love a Good Theme?

I am all about the theme-y, red, white and blue food too. Whether its Patriotic Sangria or 4th of July Poke Cake I’m here for it. There’s just nothing to dislike about the day.

And while we’re talking themed food, does anything, besides fireworks, scream the 4th of July more than bomb pops?

These Creamy Lemonade Bomb Pops don’t taste like the store-bought classic but they share the iconic red, white and blue layers. And they are just as tasty.

My homemade version has a base of vanilla frozen yogurt and lemonade that make for a creamy, zingy and super refreshing pop.

The red layer has strawberries to add sweetness. I also chose to add red food coloring to make them bright red but if you want to go natural, you’ll still get the patriotic feeling.

The blue layer features blueberries and blue food coloring. Again, you could skip the food coloring and it would be more of a purple but still fun.

These pops are very easy to make with a small ingredient list but you do need some time. The red layer is made first then needs to freeze before you proceed with the next layer. This ensures the layers don’t blend together. They don’t need to completely freeze but you need at least an hour between each layer just to ensure you get those nice, crisp lines.

What’s on your 4th of July menu this year? Ours usually consists of smoked ribs, macaroni salad, deviled eggs, cucumber salad, lots of dips and desserts. We’ll be getting back from our Costa Rica trip around 11 pm the night before so this year will be majorly low key. That makes me a little sad buuuuut, Costa Rica. I guess I can’t complain.

Keep cool and safe this 4th of July.
