And with summer here I’m thinking about all the potlucks and cookouts and fun outdoor gatherings we’ll all be attending the next few months. If I’m not bringing a pasta salad of some sort, my go to sign up is dessert.
And don’t we all want a stupid easy dessert in the summertime?! We don’t have time to make intricate things. We need to be at the pool.
In comes this triple strawberry dump cake. YES to strawberries three ways. Have you made or eaten a dump cake before? I know the name isn’t super appealing but you literally dump everything in the pan and it’s good to go. Usually there’s some kind of fruit situation in the bottom then a box of cake mix is sprinkled on top then melted butter is drizzled before baking.
The results are an ooey gooey bottom and a sweet, crunchy top. I’m pretty sure it’s a requirement that dump cake gets a big scoop of ice cream on top to finish it off.
This strawberry dump cake starts with two big cans of strawberry pie filling spread into a baking pan. Next up, sprinkle strawberry cake mix evenly on top of the strawberries. Just the powdered cake mix. Then it gets a hearty drizzle of butter and into the oven it goes. The third strawberry element is strawberry ice cream. It’s very necessary in my opinion and totally puts it over the top. The juicy, sweet strawberries, the crunchy cake topping and cool, creamy ice cream all combine to create the perfect summer dessert.

Take this Triple Strawberry Dump Cake to your next summer potluck and you'll be the star of the party. Super simple to make with just 4 ingredients.
- 2 21 oz. cans strawberry pie filling
- 1 15.25 oz. box strawberry cake mix
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Dump the strawberry pie filling into a 13x9 pan. Spread evenly. Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the strawberries. Carefully and evenly drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.
Bake cake for 30 to 40 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
